One needle to Eurasia: Bulgarian medical students come to Chongqing for exchanges, Chinese medicine floating needle therapy strengthens the health bond of the "Belt and Road"

        On July 21, a delegation of 11 medical students from Sofia University in Bulgaria and 11 medical students from Preven University visited Yongchuan Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University to conduct in-depth medical exchanges on the "floating needle therapy" of traditional Chinese medicine's characteristic technology。This event not only built a practical interactive platform for young medical talents from the two countries, but also used traditional medicine as a link to inject new vitality into the exchange of Chinese insurance medical technology under the framework of the "Belt and Road"。

Using needles as media, the charm of traditional medicine has attracted international attention

      Bulgarian medical students visited the hospital's medical beauty center for the first time to intuitively experience the integration and innovation of modern medicine and traditional aesthetics。

          Subsequently, they went deep into the clinical frontline to observe on-site the clinical application of Fu's subcutaneous needling technique in cases involving Phoxinus phoxinus subsp. phoxinus, personally experiencing the unique charm of this distinctive traditional Chinese medicine technique.

In-depth dialogue, from clinical practice to theoretical resonance

        "Bulgaria is China's old friend on the Belt and Road Initiative, and youth exchanges are a vivid footnote to the medical cooperation between the two countries." Liu Li, secretary of the hospital's Party Committee, said in his speech at the welcome ceremony that he hopes that this exchange will allow students from both countries to spark thoughts through mutual learning. 

           At the exchange meeting, Dr. Ma Kunlong, deputy director of the orthopedics (trauma) and head of the muscular department of the hospital, delivered a special academic report on the theory and clinical practice of floating needle medicine, systematically explaining the traditional Chinese medicine theoretical support and standardized operating specifications of this therapy。

 

         During the free discussion session, medical students from Sofia University and Preven University actively shared their observation experiences, raised professional insights and questions, and had a warm and fruitful exchange with Ma Kunlong, fully demonstrating the enthusiasm of young medical talents to explore the integration of cross-cultural medical knowledge.

 

   Secretary Liu Li gave a message in his summary: "I hope this trip to Yongchuan can sow the seeds of friendship and cooperation in your hearts, and I hope to see more innovative achievements in the integration of China-insurance medicine in the future."
